sketched digitally, inked traditionally, colored with Copic Sketch markers, and then scanned to add the background and text in photoshop.I think the image speaks for itself.. But this is Sam and Spike, comparing their bodies: Sam wishes he was as thin as Spike is, and Spike wishes he had a little "meat on the bones" like Sam has.
They're both ashamed of their own bodies...

This is beautiful for some reason. But they both have their own lives and how they were raised. Plus, body types come to mind. Honestly, both are beautiful in their own rights and they should be proud of the fact they're alive as they are. <3

It's odd for me, I find I've got plenty of meat as it is on this hollow skeleton of a man (me) and yet people keep telling me I should be eating more because I look too skinny.
Maybe I'm not balancing my diet right...

Oh please, the left one doesn't have that much of a problem honestly. The proportions and locations of the fat are a little weird though.

I've seen your art so many times and came across your profile so many times before from all of the people who share your awesome art on furry fb pages. But as I've said, now it makes more sense after reading the 15 chapters of the novel.Β

I can relate to Sam a lot. I absolutely love the concept and I was wondering if I could do this with two of my characters? I'll give you credit for the original of course.

I'm in Sam's position, but because I'm not living on my own and don't really have the money to buy healthy stuff (it's so expensive here =/ ), I'm pretty much forced to eat crap, and due to various reasons, exercise is a bit hard to deal with (or rather push myself to do) on a regular enough basis for it to matter, and I hate it ><
Kinda just had to vent that. Honestly speaking, I don't see how someone could be in Spike's position, wanting to be bigger, but I'm not in his position to comment so... Ehhh. =/

Just because Sam is wishing to be thin like Spike, why not just enroll him to a liposuction clinic? Sam will start dieting, and he will enroll himself to a fitness center while he listens to techno electronic, when he's working out, riding a bicycle and walking/jogging on a tredmill. Then Sam will feel anorexic, healthy, better, and will forcefully avoid junk food and meat products.
And because of Spike begging to be chubby like Sam, why not just ask him to get a fast food burger from McDonald's, a fast food burrito from Taco Bell, some fast food chicken from KFC and Chick-Fil-A, and some fast food pizza from Pizza Hut? And finally, Spike will feel all better, fat and healthy while he is fored to eat some junk food and meat products.
I feel sorry to hear that, if they'r both ashamed or embarassed about their own bodies. Nice artwork, though.

no, they're not a pairing. Sam is in love with Spike, but Spike doesn't love Sam back.

I am almost exactly like Spike. Horribly underweight, sticks on legs, flesh on bones, yet eating like a horse that watches its diet.

Oi - I know the feeling. I'm about 30 lbs. underweight and can't do anything to change it (I eat like a horse as it is). I always get those looks from people - looks that say, "Omg - that girl's so skinny. She must be anorexic!" Or those people who think I'm so lucky to be this skinny, when really it's terribly unhealthy.
It's funny, really - So many people are uncomfortable with their bodies. Some people want to lose weight. Some people want to GAIN weight. Sometimes it's difficult for people to understand each other's feelings about it. Odd, how so few people are comfortable with who they are.
