i don't usually draw very close-up comps like this and i think i historically haven't bc i've always had this fixation for always thinking that i need to be doing smthn challenging with the pose or angle so that im "pushing myself" and not being "lazy" but that's like....silly!! i rlly enjoyed working on this one because i had time to slow down and give extra attention to the face, how i wanted to stylize certain features, and all of the detail work. surume is kind of the perfect character for this composition because her hair and all the accessories that come with it are so ornate and detailed, i loved drawing her! :>
