Her coat is a smattering of bright yellows and light browns, alongside a few white accents.

fighting tactics: Perdie’s main method of attack is rather predictable for her species. She is best at hit-and-runs, luring out enemies, and getting in and out of situations quickly. Far from the most powerful feline, she relies on her speed and agility to keep the upper paw in a tussle.

Dee has what many would call a sort of ‘fun’ energy about her. She loves to be following those she chooses on every adventure– as long as it isn’t too long. Though she’s not bouncing-off-the-walls excited, she is always up for anything.

Poking fun or making fun, that’s Perdi’s motto. She enjoys a great joke more than anything, and loves making jokes almost as much. Her sense of humor can be quite dry, on a very rare occasion hurtful, but the majority of time she’ll offer a wink or a grin to let you know she’s playing.

It’s almost as if she can’t help herself. Dee is a generally kind soul, but often her compliments get a little too over-the-line and leave the recipient blushing. Perdita is, at least now, a very sunny and kind individual. While she keeps mostly to herself, whenever she ventures out of her shell she is a very sweet individual. The more you get to know her, the more of this you would get to know. While she has a bit of a sharp sense of humor, she is also just as quick to offer a helping paw or a compliment.

Dita feels like she has wasted a significant portion of her life on the wrong path. Thieving and lying was worth it when she was getting rewarded for doing it, but being left by her master was a harsh lesson in reality. She regrets a lot of the things she did, the felines she betrayed, the crimes she had once so willingly committed. She wouldn’t say it though, as regretful as she is. The shame is too deep, and the wounds she’s inflicted too recent.

Despite the picture that the kind, well meaning exterior puts up, Perdi has quite a secretive side. She has her own set of motivations behind that smile, and her methods have not always been ethical. In turning over a new leaf, she did not become a perfect angel overnight. There is still significant parts of herself she needs to work on, and because she doesn’t fully know how to not be a thief and a liar, she tends to mostly keep to herself.

Dee is very loyal, but very selective about who she is loyal to. In her lifetime, she hasn’t stuck her neck out for anyone but a select few. But for those, she will become destructive, ruining relationships and turning to any means necessary to get them whatever they want or need. In being so loyal, sometimes she can become blind to the individual’s faults, which can lead her into trouble. But in the presence of good company, she becomes good company.

HISTORY

Perdita was the only daughter of two ‘working class’ cheetahs. Her mother was a strict, but kind caregiver, while her father never graduated beyond the memory of a stern face in Perdita’s past. She was not long for the quiet little coastal town she had come into the world in, and was soon purchased by a sea-faring stranger with big, rough hands. Perdita was in awe of the huge deckhand, constantly at his heel and following him around. The sea man, however, had plans for her.

At first, Perdita didn’t really think she was doing anything wrong. She was just doing what the man had trained her to do. It was such little tasks at first. Go rub on the captain’s ankles and purr while the man slipped aboard a ship, run racing through the docks on a busy day and get some of the other deckhands to follow her, grab a shiny object or two from someone’s cargo while they weren’t looking. She was a cheetah after all, it was easy to get in and out of situations quickly. Perdita would get taught new tricks for a few weeks, then go perform them at the docks for the man when he asked. Then, after a few more weeks, they would take a short travel aboard a ship to the next bay over, where the tricks and the lying would continue. She was starting to suspect that what she was doing wasn’t right, when she got chased by a few feline guards a time or two and heard a mouthful from them hot on her heels. And again when she began noticing how displeased the humans seemed to be when she performed her tricks, though she had trouble seeing why. But, she figured none of them mattered anyway. She only cared about what the man thought about her, and that was it.
And then, Perdita met Jinx. He was a goofy, funny cheetah who just seemed to click. She would call it silly, young love now, but then it had been so real. Her master took a break, to ‘cool off’ at this particular harbor. For once, Perdita had time to get to know the area, and some of the felines in it. She had friends, she had Jinx, and her owner didn’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon. He had even stopped asking her to do tricks!
But Dee didn’t know, it was because he was planning something different. Something bigger. This new city was a great deal bigger than the small town docks she had been working before, and offered more opportunities that were worth the risks they posed. Her master planned to steal some expensive cargo, and he was going to use his cheetah pet to do it. In the meantime, he worked as a very personable deckhand, gaining people’s trust and affection as his feline counterpart unknowingly did the same.
It was Dee’s misfortune that Jinx was the one working that night, that he would be the one held in suspicion. She thought it was just a bad stroke of luck, but her owner had noticed the friendliness between the two of them and figured any night Jinx would be working, meant he would have the distraction he needed. And he did. Unknowing or not, Perdita distracted Jinx, and the next morning her master, herself, and the cargo left town.
She tried not to think too hard about it.
Until the day that she was forced to. It was a heist gone wrong, and she was left behind without a second thought when it got hairy. She watched him walk away from her, after she had been apprehended. It had hurt more than she could have ever imagined. In holding to be transferred to city ownership as a stray, she slipped off and wandered her way out of the city. She had of course, heard of the scourge of the Empires. She had lost her faith in humans, was desperate enough to look anywhere, and had to get out of the city. All the cards fell into place, and somehow she found herself in Lightning Empire a few short weeks later.
And who would end up living there, but Jinx.

Perhaps stereotypical –but Perdita, growing up thinking that stealing was not only okay but expected– has a habit of stealing. There is no yours-vs-hers, only what’s yours is mine. She has ‘targets’ for her thievery as well, usually individuals she likes and wants to give an excuse to come talk to her– i.e., get their stuff back. Sort of like the reverse of leaving a shirt at some guy you like’s house.

As previously mentioned, she has no sense of personal space. Though semi-reclusive, if she likes you? Man, does she like you. Friends, family, romantic interests, she’s up in your business whenever she decides.

She replied, flashing him a grin. "Don't worry, I'll make sure you get a proper burial and everything."Her eyes danced with laughter, though she only let out a slight chuckle. "Though your mane will have to be cleaned a bit more before your funeral." She tilted her head, tail tip curling around her paws.
