I can understand that, given that Guts has had the most horrific and disturbing backstory of any fictional character ever.

I know. The whole Golden Age Arc is a testament to the tribulations Guts went through. I hope the series ends with Guts and Casca finally free of the Apostles and the Godhand. It must end that way.

I miss Griffith, though. I like to think that Femto isn't Griffith, but rather just a completely different person. In my opinion, Griffith died in the Eclipse and was replaced by the soulless bastard who is the Hawk of Darkness.

I had a desire to read it though. I asked for volumes 1-15 to start with Christmas of that same year. It was some of the best things I got for Christmas, and mind you I got my Switch around that time too!

Wait, really? Weird enough, Farnese was the first Berserk character I ever saw before I actually got into the series.
As for the volumes, I read them on the Internet. I don't have the money to buy the novels.

Yeah... before he was turned into an inhuman, remorseless archdemon. Honestly, that bastard ruling Falconia now -- the guy walking around, claiming he's Griffith, and the same man whose true form is a hawk demon -- that's not Griffith. Griffith may have been morally ambiguous, but he did say once when he was human that he would rather sacrifice himself than let others die for his dream (he said this to Casca after he sold himself to Gennon for a night). The Godhand, however, convinced him that the only way he would reach his kingdom was by continuing to let others sacrifice for him. And Griffith at the time wasn't in the right frame of mind at the time (post-torture). He took the deal with the Devil, not knowing that it would completely change him from the man he was.
The man ruling Falconia isn't Griffith. He's Femto, the Hawk of Darkness. Griffith died in the Eclipse.
