What an awesome shot! ~janey mentioned how it was cool that you can see the shadows and reflections as well, I agree The lighting is great, but I don't think anyone mentioned the colors. They are great too. Makes you just want to stare at and admire it.

simple location, simple lighting, great piece of work
long exposures like this one have a story.
its like you compress a movie of 15 seconds to 1 frame
well done :clap.

janey [2004-01-07 14:46:43 +0000 UTC]

i really like it. its great how you can see not just the people, but their shadows, and reflections on the wall and floors. its a great and yet simple idea for a band. it makes me think, like the person who wrote that big comment said. you have to wander, what instrument does each of them play, is the guy in red who's most visible the lead singer? its more fun for the viewer/buyer/listener, they get to think, not just look and see 4 faces staring at them like so many other album covers.

i hope to be this interesting when i do a friends band's ep cover/artwork later.

orangebutt In reply to janey [2004-01-07 14:48:34 +0000 UTC]

hehe you're right ... the guy in red is the leadsinger thx a lot for the comment and have fun with the coverartwork!

I love the lighting.

to me it kind of portrays the 'loneliness in a crowd' concept.

but I may be wrong.

I see this, because one of the figures is more solid than the others and so it seems like a busy picture where everyone is rushing around.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

orangebutt In reply to forbiddensnowflake [2003-12-17 09:11:16 +0000 UTC]

hmm... it seems like a busy picture, but they were bored, because they had to wait for another band member... thanks a lot for that comment

Awesome photo! How did you do that? That's really freakin' nifty! It's all shadowy and such...time elapse? That will make for a very cool CD art piece. ^.^

the same perspective/location but with all 4 of them and some shots that didn't looked so busy at all

another great shot! And it'd be a fav only i don't wanna lose Three from offa my page just yet
3 friggin' guys here, who were all standing about
it appears that im looking at the residuals of each of their separate presences.
Like one of those time lapse video captures, they came, loitered about
and finally left.
And the camera captured fragments of each of those individual visits to this hall.

Ok i've went on and on here, but to me the lighting, location, and first and foremost the capture on the subjects creates alot of mystery.
Makes you wonder who they are, what they were doing, hey that guy there, what was he reading?!
The one standing on the right? Yeah like hes a bouncer, though he ain't im sure. I bet he was just staring off to his right slightly.
And our guy with his hands in his trousers, we'll never know about 'em since his heads been eclipsed somehow.

anyone who doesn't comment on this is a daft twat
Keep it up dearo
