No u can save her do all ur mineral mining and get all upgrades to the Normandy sr2 and do all of ur teammates special missions and up grades before u assault the collector base so with all the up grades u don't have to stuff arse around trying to get get them which means with no time wasting the crew will survive if u need any more info on me2 send Me a message yeah

You might be interested to know that her death is not a set event - it's detirmined by player choice. In most of my playthroughs, she survives.
