I really enjoy this piece. It seems to posses a sort of magical feeling, which for me (being a hard realist) is very hard to achieve, but you seem to have grasped onto that and hold it tightly. Of course there are a few error that I am going to point out, even though you said not to (you said to make you cry, right?) The face is very limited, it is hard for me to see her expression in the painting, so im left hanging, wondering if she is simply happy, or if she seems to be deep in thought, and the clouds seem a tad elementary. It posseses detail, however it still seems to be lacking. The water is very still, and it seems to be nothing but a blue mirror, which is not bad, however it is still lacking realness. The ants are not very well done, nothing but three or four dots. Other than those problems, I really love the piece and I wish I had the talent you have. It really represents Dali's style and I LOVE that. To me this piece (like I said before) is very magical and it seems to be going against reality, with the floating cross and the way the dress turns into droplets of water that seems to float above the water, as if gravity is holding the water away. I personally think that this piece is a stab at reality (Water falling? NO WATER WILL FLOAT!) which actually makes it very enjoyable to me, since I respect the fact that bee's can fly although physics says they should not. Overall, Is very good and it may make a surrealist of me!

Haha I only speak the TRUTH.
It's no problem, I haven't had a piece worth critiquing in a while.
Yay for reflections!

BAH. I /love/ the swan in this, and the sky and the stairs for some reason. Those are my favorite aspects of this pic <3
Just.. the detail put into it is so great! > W <
I agree with the people about the reflection and the water stuff though, and the ripples on the water. I feel like the bareness of it takes away from the picture, but I dunno.
LOVELYDARLING.<3
Also, what's with the 2 superscript in your signature?
OHWAIT. THAT'S RIGHT. OGO.

oh my god this is amazing
I'll try to give a little crit or something. (Sorry if I don't help at all.)
Um - The water looks great but it also looks really flat. I was thinking you could use a little shading to give the water more depth and some ripples so it looks more water like.
But everything else I think is wonderful! <3

thank you! cx <333
i was trying to base the water off the way Dali painted it most of the time. real flat and stuff. x'D i think i should have added more depth to the water though. or just give the girl a shadow/reflection in the water.

I need to practice for my senior critique day tomorrow, so here I go! (sorry if I sound kinda harsh ;m; )
I like how you colored the swan and the girl. Love the hint of brown on the white to create a diagonal unity of the neutrals. I also love the "melty effect" on the leg and the stairs.
Then there's some things that confuse me. I sure like the water (especially the reflection), but I'm slightly confused with the objects on the water, are they supposed to be floating or suspended in air? the water effect on the dress puzzles me also, if the water is falling onto the body of water, then there should be some transitional ripple effect on the water to indicate that the water has fallen into the water.
But other than that, lookin' good! c:

no no, tough is good. cB
thanks, that swan took a while. :'D
they were supposed to be floating above the water. looking back i should have added another reflection for the girl and stairs. |'D i think i might do that if i can find time.
the water was also supposed to be suspended as well, so no rippling. c:
kshdjfbhkj should have added that shadow/reflection in the water. |c
thank you so much! cx <33

The only problem is the space and how flat it feels. Other than that, it's nice! c:

i totally agree. it completely lacks the depth Dali's works have now that i look at it.
thank you!
