I did this some weeks ago and don't think I'm going to work on it anymore, so here it is! I posted this on tumblr and it was reblogged by the official oitnb tumblr, which is super awesome!!!I love Poussey from Orange is the New Black! She's my favorite character for sure and I just love how she looks in her flashback episode, so I had to paint it. I hope to paint more people in the future too. This was really quick, maybe done in 2-3 hours.

Though her backstory is sad, I'm more heartbroken over her unrequited love for Taystee and what that bitch Vee did to their friendship in s2 ! I was so happy when Taystee got her shit together, blew off Vee and became Poussey's friend again.

That flashback episode of hers damn near broke my heart, not just because of it's story, but holy crap, if you ever want to make me cry, just start speaking German, it'll work every damn time. ;^; (Like, for real. If anyone for whatever reason wants to evoke any kind of emotion from me... use German and there's a 301% chance I will lose it.)
I'm not sure I have a discernible favorite?? Definitely a tie between Rosa and Morello. I really wanna see Yoga Jones' back story though. I mean, it's been said/alluded to, but...?? There might be more to it?? idk just a thought I'd had

Aw yeah I love Rosa's story a lot, it really surprised me that she became so important in the second season. I'd love to see more of Yoga jones too, maybe next season!

Fantastic work - Poussey is definitely a favorite character of mine (I was about ready to stop watching but I kept holding out, hoping she would get herself back). <3
I love Yoga Jones and Watson, they're so sweet together. My only problem with the Jones' story was just a few details seemed off, since there is no Home Depot in Humboldt (I use to live there, and hope to move back) and though Humboldt is "notorious" for its weed usage/growing, I actually smell and see more busts for it "down" here (still Northern CA). XD *shrugs* Ah well, I can forgive a few off details since it is such an awesome show!
Also totally agree on Rosa's story - I was surprised too!

Ah, this is really pretty! I haven't watched the show but the character/actor has a really great, expressive face, and I love seeing people draw her. The subtle coloring on the shaved parts of her head is really great.

Yeah I always liked her character in season 1, but she really won me over in season 2. I wasn't expecting her backstory at all, but it was just so beautifully done!! I'm excited to see more of her in season 3 aaaaa

Her backstory completely caught me off guard. I was already a fan of her from season one, she has such amazing, expressive eyes but like you said, she completely won me over in season 2. Season 2 in general was amazing. I really hope OITNB sticks around for a while. The writing is superb and there are no bland characters in the entire series (well, maybe Piper's boyfriend and best friend XD)
