Jason whistled as he walked along, swinging the lead rope in his hands lazily as Inca walked along behind him, expression as stern as ever. Passing by one of the fields, he paused and blinked as he saw SPaVES's resident 'alter-physicist' standing by the gate, staring inside at the two horses within. Following Silas's gaze, he frowned slightly as he noticed that his best friend Linus's horse was within - accompanied by a small stallion he had never seen before.

"Hey, Sil-o. Who's the new meat?" He asked curiously, leading Inca over as he leant against the gate next to the magician, startling the younger man badly.

"O-OH. Jason. Hello. Sorry, um... w-what was your question?" The man stuttered out, looking terribly flustered as he wrung his hands nervously. Jason frowned and raised an eyebrow, surprised at the usually cheerful man's awkwardness. Opening his mouth to rephrase his question, he was surprised when the small golden stallion visibly perked up upon seeing him, trotting over immediately to snort and whinny loudly in his face, interspersing his noise with occasional teeth-baring at poor Silas.

Jason reached out to pat the neck of the noisy little stallion, eyeing Tai out of the corner of his eye as he saw the large white stallion approaching at a more sedate pace. "Chill, man. What's up with you today?" He asked, looking amused.

Silas worried at his lower lip for a moment, warily eyeing the ticked off golden stallion before sighing and slumping slightly. "I... there was a bit of an accident just now. See, I was experimenting with some... formulas. At Edmond's request, mind. And... I might have left a sample lying around..." He said nervously, messing with his hair.

Jason paused in patting the gold stallion, crossing his arms as he looked warily at the unknown horse. "Wait. Don't tell me you accidentally changed the colour of one of the horses? That'll be a nightmare with the registries, man - not cool." He said, fixing an exasperated look on the magician - who quickly brought his hands up in a placating gesture.

"No! Well.. Not really. See, Linus was hanging around training Tai, and he had... I suppose been rather tired from the work. So he... went to get a drink... and, well..." Here, Silas shrugged a tad helplessly, waving a hand half-heartedly towards the golden stallion.

Jason paused as the implication of the words set in, and turned to stare at the gold stallion, who in turn gave him a long-suffering look. There was a long silence, then Jason burst out laughing burying his face in his hand as his shoulders shook. In the paddock, the human-turned-horse pinned his ears and nipped his best friend grumpily before turning and stalking further into the field, flicking his tail angrily. Tai, ever loyal, followed his agitated owner and nudged him with his muzzle, trying to calm the golden horse with the same horsey hug he would usually use on Linus when the man was upset or irritable.

Silas sighed as he glanced between Jason - who was quite literally on the floor laughing - and his boss-turned-pony in the field. He wasn't sure of many things at this point of time, but one thing he did know was this...

Edmond De'Vier was going to kill him when he found out what Silas had done to his younger brother.
