They are all excellent folds! I like the cockroach the best.

I've made the scorpion, how did you make the legs so thin?

I used very thin paper for that. It's easier to shape properly

How do you keep it from ripping?

These are beautiful. I have folded the usual boxes and cranes but I never knew such complicated creatures could be folded from one sheet of paper.

Just 1 square, no cuts no glue...fascinating, isn't it? That's why I love origami!

They are all creepy enough to be deemed great folds. I specially like the scorpion, mainly because I find them somewhat cool and they are not insects.
That paper is turning out to be a real goldmine for your origami needs!

Yes, it's a goldmine indeed! I have tried Lang's bugs a couple of times from copy paper and kraft paper but I failed miserably, the scorpion's tail was too thick and almost impossible to shape. This bread wrapping paper is much better because it's very thin and also the color is very insect-like (or arachnid-like ).

These are awesome ! The paper you used seems great.
I hate insects but strangely, I think origami ones are fascinating, I love them !

Wow, this is amazing, 30 cms square?! and how big are the insects when finished?

Orestigami In reply to iDoux [2011-08-16 21:35:17 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! The two insects are about 10-11cm (antennae included, the scorpion is a little longer if you stretch the tail.
