Description Here is drawn with the Fëanorian characters according to the mode of Gondor a chart of the kin of Elrond whose tales are told in the History of Middle-Earth.

A transcription into the Roman alphabet is here.

This tree, like its Roman parent, was drawn with MetaPost. The tengwar uses Johan Winge's Tengwar Annatar font; it's arranged via TeX virtual fonts, made by me.

The names in shadowed boxes are names of positions rather than people: for example, the highest box says "3 erain Númenor" ("3 Kings of Númenor). This means that the Númenorean part of the tree can conceivably fit on one computer screen.

However, I had to translate these names, and my Sindarin is pretty bad. What I have is "3 erain Númenor", "14 hîr Andúnië", "16 conin ar ernil Númenor", "Hîr Andúnië" "22 erain Arnor", "27 erain ar ernil Gondor", and "15 hîr Dúnedain".

This is supposed to mean "3 Kings of Númenor", "14 Lords of Andúnië", "16 Rulers and Princes of Númenor", "a Lord of Andúnië", "22 Kings of Arnor", "27 Kings and Princes of Gondor", and "15 Chieftains of the Dúnedain". If you can suggest better translations, please do so.
