Evenstar Gleam was one of the many delusioned youths that were taught to believe the Grand Galloping Gala was something fun and exciting. Having grown up in Canterlot himself, Evenstar believed the stories even more. The Princess was always there, which, in his eyes, surely must've meant the Gala was something worth visiting. It wasn't until weeks of pleading with his father, who holds a position in the royal guard, that he managed to squeeze himself into the party.

He spent hours trying to approach Princess Celestia, only to have his anxiety and idol worship get the best of him and paralyze him on the spot. Whenever he did muster up the courage to move another hoof forward, some other pony beat him to the punch and talked to her before he could. Then he realized there was a lineup! Suffice to say, it wasn't what he would call the best night ever.

At least he got to dress up, though. This is him mere hours before the event. :Y
