Here we are, back again with the story that started the Superwomen of Eva series, Emerald Fury. And as I look back, I wish that I had had the tools and experience that I have now back then. But at least I can claim to have learned a few things along the bumpy road to where we are now.As you can see, just about everything in this cover is new. The only things I reused from the original comic cover is the city element and the question mark blurb, which I'm still pleased with, and even the city has been polished up somewhat. And I'm very proud, not only of the postures of the characters and the way they came out, but also in the way they come together. It's very easy to see that they're all looking at She-Hulk Misato here. And I believe their expressions are all much better and in keeping with the characters. I heavily referenced the original production art from NGE to make sure I got them all right.
Thank goodness for DAZ Studio and Paint Tool Sai. These, along with Photoshop Elements 7, are the tools that helped make this piece what it is. And I get the feeling that DAZ and Sai are going to help me go a long ways in making my works the best it can be.

Everything looks more detailed now! Also regular Misato looks...happier for some reason. And Maya's there, though the other two are not.

Yeah, I'm very pleased with the level of detail I was able to get here. I thought it would be nice to have Misato smiling.
I decided to include Maya in this version simply because of the role she plays later on in the story. Plus, when I remembered her expression from EOE when the JSSDF shows up, it seemed like the perfect thing for this sort of thing.
As for She-Hulk...well, I may have exaggerated the scale somewhat, but then, that's pretty much what Marvel did for both the debut issues of Hulk and She-Hulk. Plus, I wanted to really emphasize how strong and dangerous Misato's other is for this, so that works.

Oh right the Maya thing. It's been so long since I read it I sort of forgot that recent development.
I guess when I think She Hulk I tend to think of the Marvel version which isn't quite as big and monsterous as the regular Hulk.
But the SWOE version isn't quite like that is it?

No, it's not. In a way, Misato is sort of between where Bruce Banner and Jennifer Walters are, with some of the same problems that both have. She's lonely, has a hard time dealing with people. Like Bruce, she has severe issues with her father, and was deeply traumatized as a child. Like Jennifer, she wants attention and to be comforted, but is also very caring about others and wants to help in any way possible.
By the way, there have been times when Marvel's She-Hulk has been every bit as dangerous as the Hulk himself. And it took the Hulk in order to stop her, and save her from her own inner beast.
