Gargoyles are fictional creatures often depicted as stone statues that come to life at night.

I thought a gargoyle will be awesome for Rock because aspires to be a male model. And statues are a three-dimensional representation usually of a person, animal, or mythical being that's produced by sculpturing, modeling, or casting. And He's immensely strong, as both seen in Pogo Sticks and The Fart Joke Debate. Where he flips a table. Coincidentally, the same episode, The Fart Joke Debate, he walked up on a wall and then the ceiling. And gargoyles are wall creatures.

In the monster-verse, Rock is a gargoyle who dreams to become the first gargoyle to become a male model. Buuuuuut since he's a night creature, he had to use moon cream (It's like sunscreen but for night monsters) so he'd be sentient in the daytime otherwise... He'll be a beastly lawn ornament for a day. Despite his powerful and temperamental, he's really quite sweet and helpful. And his vocal cords are like the hulk: If he's angry, excited, stressed or possibly anything that can increase his heart rate, his voice gets very deep. If his calm, his voice goes back to normal.
