GOD! THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I DON'T SUBMIT TRADITIONAL ARTWORK! IT TURNS OUT LOOKIN' SO SHITTY AND SHIT. My colored pencils suck (LOL CRAYOLA WTF?), my scanner sucks, but most of all, I SUCK! TAT djfgkjdshdjsaWell, whatever. This is Koryu and Daemon... they're my stupid OCs. *stabs picture repeatedly*
P.S. I was too lazy to draw on the tablet. Forgive me.

I like it, the colored pencil work is nice. I dont think everything needs to be so new age. The traditional is nice sometimes too. Also it helps that your OC's are freaking adorable! <3

Personally, the color pencils did not turn out badly--and the fact that you have a program to smooth out some of the rougher spots should help too.
I wouldn't mind seeing more traditional work, whether they are planned or whimsical. Go for it, I say. You will only improve with actual practice and experiments with digital editing.

The only thing I had to do was increase the brightness of the picture. The scanner is stupid because it made the background look too grey-ish, and it totally sucked out all the colors. In the end, I decided to remove the background, though. No other changes were made.
I'm not much of a picture manipulator; that's why I don't really use Photoshop > 3<;
