Description One day I was looking for info on thalattosuchians only to discover the classic genus Metriorhynchus had no illustration on Wikipedia. So I did what any responsible paleoartist with time on their hands would do and drew one. This version has a quickly painted background because I thought it might look a bit plain in the DA gallery on pure white background.

It should be noted that due to taxonimic reshuffling the only proper fossil specimen assigned to Metriorhynchus these days consists of only the upper jaw anterior to the orbits, so I had to fill in the blanks using other closely related thalattosuchians. The soft tissue is based on fossil impressions that show these animals had well developed fins with smooth skin, and the color scheme was inspired by Tomistoma and barracudas.
