I can see this is a fairly realistic portrait. But...why is this in a group for cartooning styles? This is too complex and realistic to be a cartoon. Sure it has liner elements and it might be realistically off in places, but that doesn't mean it's a cartoon.
This might be an compliment or an insult, I don't know or care. But that is just not a cartoon picture to me.
Oh whatever, its not like I'm a collaborator or administrator here.

Well I consider it cartoonish because it's not a photorealistic portrait. Usually when painting off a model or a photo reference, people will make it looks smooth and polished and as real as possible...I certainly didn't do that here, and I purposely didn't want to. It's more of a light caricature...an exaggerated portrait. Just because it's colored realistically doesn't make it realism. I definitely played around with facial proportions here by enlarging his eyes and moving stuff around, and that's what stops this particular piece from falling purely into the category of "realism". I just happen to like a more painterly style for my stuff, and that's just my personal technique. Interpret it as you will.
