Description being still in love with the abandoned psd file [link] by ~amaeli i created yet another skin to match my Abandon Otis skin as it can be seen in the Directors' CAD series.

more precisely i wanted Abandon Otis to resemble my wellknown ThaUpright.

well, i hope you like it.

the artwork seen in the skin is called DRAMATIC DAY. [link] which has been created by =Nicoweb .
go check out his stunningly beautiful gallery. [link]

not at all. use whatever fonts you see fit for your needs, dude.

ah yeah, the abandon otis series is one of my favourites. and i love ThaUpright. i couldn't resist bringing them both together for this. nice knowing that you enjoy the outcome just as much as i do.

thanks, Steven.

Mmm... once again, I find myself enjoying another Otisbee skin. This one screamed to me "put on your sidebar!" And put it there I did.

The subtle gradients on the album art display adds a lot of character to the skin, and oftentimes to the art itself (although it does look a little funky on some of the lighter artwork.) I'd rather have it there than not, to be sure.

The rating system is well implemented, subtle, and wonderfully animation. Speaking of which, my favorite part about this skin is the two little "lights" on the bottom, constantly pulsing back and forth. Most of the music I listen to happens to be about 150 BPM, which makes there little lights quite... mesmerizing.

Overall, it's a wonderful skin I think anyone would be more than happy to add to their collection. Great work.

now, to have it all sumarized and referred to as "quality" is something i haven't had in mind before.
i like it.

The Ballad of the Abandoned Otis

There once was a young boy named Otis,
whose potency was widely acclaimed,
"So sexy!" "Cute ass!" & "Wtf!" was exclaimed,
As he sketched his CAD skins on parched lotus...

But one day, the girls stopped paying attention,
"+fav"'s and "+devwatches" faded into the ground,
Photoshop gave him heartburn - the phone not a sound,
His CAD skins received neither adulation nor mention...

"O treacherous fate!" He cried, "To be so abandoned!
My libido must warrant a more tempestuous applause,
Should I switch to Facebook? A wallpaper for Kaws?
Now that my lover has left me for a handsome Ugandan...?"

But has luck would have it, before he reached Forty,
A wondrous transformation finally occurred,
His hair grew back, no longer the CAD nerd,
His breath smelled of peppermint, and not roccaforte...

The moral here, my friends, is somewhat complex,
(Sensitive minds might fail at a task so demanding)
Erogenous zones in the Mac GUI notwithstanding -
Photoshop should never be a substitute for sex!

OtisBee In reply to PoulNyrup [2008-10-24 15:39:59 +0000 UTC]

could as well be named "The Ballad of the Abundant Otis"

..and you're right, "My libido must warrant a more tempestuous applause", indeed.

...now you got me waiting in front of the mirror to hopefully watch my hair grow back soon.
16 days to go and i can't even taste a distant hint of pepermint, yet.

you also got me wondering: is the parched lotus lying on the floor? why else would anybody refer to my ass as being cute? i mean, do i sketch my skins crouching on the floor with my ass lifted up high in the sky?

perhaps i should try that one day.

excellent ballad, dude.
i feel deeply flattered and also a bit concerned.
according to "Sensitive minds might fail at a task so demanding" i'm tempted to say:

....."what did you say the moral was?"

thanks a lot, DUDE!

Respekt, mein Lieber!

what are you waiting for?

Alexander-GG In reply to OtisBee [2008-10-23 15:38:41 +0000 UTC]

I'm using AIMP2 player [link] , which has great sound and works on BASS Dll's. CAD is only for Winamp, yes?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OtisBee In reply to Alexander-GG [2008-10-24 14:38:12 +0000 UTC]

here's what the CAD homepage says:

Supported Players:

"...CD Art Display fully works with AlbumPlayer, Helium Music Manager, iTunes, Winamp, Windows Media Player, MediaMonkey and partially supports qmp, MP3Toys, musikCube and foobar2000 (Winamp API Emulator plugin)..."

and it even supports AIMP2.

on first install (or later in CAD options) you'd have to choose winamp as your player and then browse for the "aimp2.exe" manually.
save your changes and from now on CAD will work with your AIMP2.

Alexander-GG In reply to OtisBee [2008-10-24 17:28:58 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, Otis. I did not know that it supports AIMP2 player. I'll try. But, I have one question, when I want to open CAD, should I open the player first or there is no need to open the player?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OtisBee In reply to Alexander-GG [2008-10-24 17:44:18 +0000 UTC]

there's an option in CAD where you can set it to autostart when your player is started.
or was it the player to autostart with CAD?
i'm not quite sure, actually.
i guess you'd have to try it.

4 skins and counting!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OtisBee In reply to eos8 [2008-10-23 14:58:17 +0000 UTC]
