Description
My character Alex from the novel I'm writing. He's a Russian soldier and a real sweetheart, although he's pretty slow on the uptake. He also calls everyone Mac, be they friend, foe, or commanding officer.Please refrain from swearing in the comments.

I knew a guy like that who went to Vietnam. He had almost as many reprimands for not saluting as he had medals.

Patton was famous for such things. He would punish soldiers for not wearing ties in the combat zone. He had to have order. Once he ordered Bill Maldon out of his area of control as a bad influence on the men.
