I can't draw Polish uniforms. I can't.Anyways, I doodled this after watching some history video about Fall Weiß, or Case White, or the invasion of Poland, or the start of WWII. Moving on. The Germans didn't expect the Poles to really resist too long because German Blitzkrieg tactics worked very well with the Polish terrain, and because they had taken the Poles completely by surprise when they invaded. But those darned Poles, who never give up when they're supposed to, held out for an entire month before they were finally overwhelmed because they had nowhere to go when the Soviets moved in from the east. So, appropriately inspired after watching said history video narrated by a man who I suspect is Austrian, I drew a Polish soldier being. . .resistive. Or something.

Heeeey, there's an idea. All I have to do is come up with a good Polish name and give him a background. He wouldn't get to do much, though, just hide in the woods and harass German soldiers.

Incidentally I experienced a moment of weakness at the bookstore because there was a book on Operation Anthropoid that I wanted to get but Audie Murphy was staring at me with big eyes from the cover of his autobiography so I caved in and got To Hell And Back instead.

Ugh, yes. Some female (I hesitate to call her an actual girl) once asked me incredulously how Audie Murphy was better than Justin Bieber, because, after all, Justin Bieber is so totally hot. Her words, thank heaven, not mine.
Girls today can keep Justin Bieber. I'll take Audie over that delinquent anytime.
