Careful, Inkwell. Make sure that's aligned correctly before you drill that hole. You know what they say: "Measure twice, cut once!"Meet Elder Inkwell, once Treasurer of the Wintertrot Steel Rangers before his entire contingent was wiped out in a freak airship crash. Equipped with his newly-found Magi-Drill, Inkwell decides to 'modify' a Steel Ranger helmet for unicorn use by drilling a hole instead of sawing his horn off. The scene in its entirety can be read in chapter 1 of Rangers of Wintertrot [link] written by , one of the coolest dudes it's ever been my pleasure to make the acquaintance of.
This is the first time I've ever vectored power armor, and I have to say, as a result of that, It's probably the most complex thing I've ever vectored before. It was difficult and not without challenge, but oh-so-worth-it. It's time I finally gave back to such a generous guy as equilibrik, and pushing myself to accomplish this piece was exactly how I wanted to do it.

So... Awesome.
This is brilliant Tofu. No seriously, this is bloody brilliant. So this Vector can join that small crowd of Rangers of Wintertrot related art, that is solely focused on Inkwell. You captured Inkwell perfectly, his hairstyle, eye colour, overall size and youth. You also did his magi-drill really well. This is what I will have Inkwell doing later, he actually used his magic to carefully drill the hole the first time. Anyway, I love this on so many levels, thanks again Tofu.

My gut was telling me Inkwell was still running the drill with his magic and it hadn't been hardwired into his armor yet when he cut the hole. Dammit.
I like to think I've improved a great deal, but unicorn magic auras are still a hurdle I'm working on. My vector of Greaser originally had her levitating something, but I had to axe it because of said hurdle. I saw this one tutorial, but it didn't really work for me because it was for Photoshop CS4, and I use Illustrator for my vectors, so my version of Photoshop is out-of-date. Because of that, the features used in the tutorial aren't available to me. I need to find a suitable work-around for that. Preferably a way to do it in Illustrator.
Still, I'm glad you like it. I'm trying to get as good as I can before I finish Outlaw, because I've got a cool idea I'd like to implement- a short animated .gif right at the end of chapter 30.

Only problem with cutting the helmet is you loose the radiation resistance, that is unless you can find adequate scrap metal to create horn armor!

He does get Horn armor at a later point. Originally he got it early in the story, but I have changed things around in the rewrite.

From what little I've heard about the chapters has taken down to revise, the hole does give Inkwell some issues that he has to work out.

It is an AWESOME story, but there are a few scenes with 'cazadorables' (or something like that) that are pretty funny. I was saying don't read it in the 'ha-ha' sense. I do actually recommend it after reading the original.
