I don't know what my gender headcanon for Viktor is, but I see him as either bigender or genderfluid. He was very feminine when younger and still is, his stance and soft voice, his costumes with red shades, and his skating, to me, all look like a representation of Viktor's feminine side. Though this may sound a bit sexist?

With that in mind, I don't think Viktor cut his hair to look more mature or masculine, I think he did it to surprise the public, the thing he excelled at. But in order to do so, he had to sacrifice part of his femininity, part of himself. I feel like it was a hard and painful decision to make, and it was part of the reason Viktor realized he wasn't skating for himself, but for the public, he was sacrificing bits of his own identity, of what made him Viktor, so that the public could have Viktor Nikiforov. And because of that, he decided to retire.

This is obviously a far fetched headcanon, all in my head, but honestly it's something I'd like to read about, if anyone would want to write a fanfiction on it. lol (hmu w that link if you do)
