For those following my recent efforts, my recent change of jobs I hope will energize me to restart my personal works. So this is a first image to get the ball rolling.

I think time management is a key thing and this turned out to be scheduled well in bits inbetween my regular contracted work.

The model for this image is the incredible Tuschinski theater in Amsterdam, a unique blend of art deco and nouveau styles with a treasure trove of strange and interesting architectural details. The interior is wonderfully atmospheric and I hope to do some images based on it as well.

As usual very minimal use of textures and high detail in model... some details sacrificed due to lighting or small size.

There is a ton of Photoshop work in this one... much more even than usual. It's really not finished in the raw 3d form (texture, lighting) but I ended up playing with it enough in PS to get to a point where I am fairly satisfied with it... I think it enabled me to achieve lighting/color effects that would have been difficult to achieve straight out of max.
