I've known you for about 6 years,
So I'm sorry if I've come across
As dumb to you all those years.
The LAST time I was told
That you thought I was dumb
Was just over
A year ago,
During a very PAINFUL phone-call
With my ex-boyfriend,
The guy I'd been dating
For 3 years.
Even HE had to fucking convince you
That I'm not dumb, that
I'm actually smart.
Do you have ANY IDEA
How that made me feel?!!
It almost felt as though
You'd backstabbed me.
My own ex-boyfriend
Was defending me,
He had to stick up for me
Also, this sort of irked me,
But please don't diss my major.
Yes, I'm a studio art major,
But please don't see that
As a useless major
That offers a limited number of jobs.
Hell, I'm good at art
So I'm pretty damn bound
To get a job that pertains to art.
Just because YOU can't draw
Or do anything artsy,
Doesn't mean that
All art majors won't find a job.
Dude, I love you to death,
But it really fucking hurts
Like a BITCH
To know that
Even though you love me as well
You also "underestimate"
My intelligence.
I am smart
But just in different ways.
Just because I'm not a
Logical thinker,
Doesn't mean I'm smart!
I'm just not fucking organized!!!!
You might also hold
A SLIGHT grudge against me
For breaking up with him,
But please don't go as far
As thinking I'm stupid.

Just… appreciate who I am
Accept how I think
And you might see that I'm smart,
Only in different ways.

If you're looking for responses to your rants, then dA might not be the best place, necessarily. It's a good place to vent to though, if you just need to get it out there.
I'm sorry that happened to you; I have a lot of friends who have focus issues, but they're some of the smartest people I know, even if they're not necessarily doing well in school. They're smart in different ways, and honestly, I kind of admire them.
