I liked the unlikable/unsympathetic characterisation for her. She was unapologetically grouchy about her job and how rowdy the Ames were. I liked the subtext about her millenias long vexation.

And I think that bomb was more concentrated around how a cold and calculating perspective on non-rigid/organic/living systems can come of REALLY creepy? And how it was unaccomodating even for the Diamonds themselves?

I think Holly did actually fulfill her story purpose there in that bomb. From the arch's perspective, she was technically the one char who put it in words, though subverted(the part where she literally confessed her love to YD), how gems are just crammed into a place in the system, regardless how they feel about it.

Edit: sorry if I'm rambling. I really liked those eps where they introduced holly XD

I can see your point, but she just felt too one dimensional and a bit cliche, i would have prefered her coming off more as someone who has legit put everything into her work and it still get's her nothing, or show how she's just as trapped by the system as everyone else, like have her be jealous of the famethyst's closeness while she's basically always alone, or have her be forced to play the responsible one who has to keep everything running, while the famethyst causes her no end of headaches and shows her no respect because they don't get how precarious their lives are,

Well... If you consider the tight timespan they have for their episodes, Holly would have taken too much time... They couldn't go into detail because the bomb didn't revolve around her. And the deeper characterization was, therefore, obsolete

Not really, a few telling looks when no one is looking and replacing her ending rant with a different one would have yielded a deeper character with no need to even extend her scenes,

You know how the gems are. The diamonds. Traditional. They stick to whatever was before.

Also, when you apply psychology, it makes sense that Holly would defend herself no matter what. She wouldn't allow herself to show weakness before others

Gems are idiots they are insanely easy to fool so no one would ever be good at hiding things,
