Well I don't live in the tropics, but I am so glad that Bouganvilleas can still grow in my climate conditions. Amazingly, the less attention they get from the gardener, the more flowers they get ( kinda like Frangipanis ).
Bouganvillea flowers are often thought to be the colourful parts such as the red and orange ones here, but the true flowers are the small white things in the middle. Their gloryious colours are actually "bracts", which are really modified leaves...My favourite ones have always been the cerise-pink coloured ones ( lucky for me, they are the most commonly grown colour in my area )

You bet...And tropical plants are my favourite subject for gardens, so I spend more time researching them over other plants.
Though I'm too young ( and broke ) to move into my own house yet, so I don't have a garden of my own, though I've influenced my parents to give their garden a tropical theme. My own plants are grown in pots for now.

This is gorgeous!!! I did a workshop the end of March and did a bougainvillea on a hot press illustration board, as an experiment. I've always avoided bougianvillea, because of all the tedious little flowers (although I love them on my lanai!) My attempt turned out ok, but nothing I'd like to share with anyone. Great Job!

Very beautiful with composition and colors. Do you remember what colors you used to make the reds?
