No, you are not a terrible person. Having played the game, getting to Zevran's pants (or according to my impression, lack of ones) is worth it even if you'd hate the game otherwise. This is a fact. If you don't believe me I can also write a spoileriffic essay detailing how amazing he is.
Very nice lineart here. Donät know much about digital art to go into technical details, but I especially like the right one, the more sketchy one. He's got such a.... longing, even sad expression. Which is as much in character as the smug grins and dirty jokes are. He's wonderful that way.

Haha, and before you know it you've also played through DA 2 and buying a new computer to accommodate Inquisition. It's pretty hooking, but I do recommend playing at least Origins.
Yeah, you can watch the videos but it's still better when you play it yourself. DA tends to have a pretty strong immersive role-playing element, at least to me. Go for it! Come to the dark side! We have cookies and sleazy assassins aplenty for everyone!

Well, yeah, I've played some tabletop RP too and I guess MMO video game could come close to that kind of freedom with other real people playing with you, but I don't really know since I don't do MMO's myself. To me DA has a this illusion of freedom-thing quite well in hand compared to many other video game series. I mean with better and cheaper computers games are getting pretty diverse in that sense nowadays as a whole, altough it'll probably always lack the genuine human factor kind of escalation in events when the only human in the game is the sole player. The AI will always have a logic, however complex, and that way it'll be predictable, but with genuine human minds all logic can be abandoned and depending on the RP pretty much anything can occur.

Now I've been playing at DAO for some days, I think I have a more precise opinion on the subject. As I expected, it has little in common with a tabletop or live RPG, the range of choices the player has is quite small, and, besides some really nice touches once in a while (some consequences to the player's action, some reactions..) there is not much one can do to go "out of the path". It's still quite entertaining, and probably one of the best videogames of its kind, so I'm happy I found it! On a side note though, there are things I think could have been done better, the quests are quite long and the fights all look the same, so after a while it tends to become a little boring... I think it would have been better to have less enemies, but more challenging. Also, the "puzzles" are impossible, I don't think that many have solved them without peeking at the solitions. >.> Which I don't think is very entertaining, better to not have them at all. :/

Yeah, tabletop gamers always say that... I mean I believe it's true, the illusion of freedom thing. Boundaries set by the media. I assume you talk abot the Gauntlet questline puzzles... To me they were more frustratingly time-consuming than impossible, but admittedly I ended up looking at the quide at the bridge thing... So yeah, not really enjoyable anyways. I happen to like puzzles and for me too hard is better than too easy, but it is a very risky line to walk in an adventure game. The Orzammar 'puzzles' realy don't feel like puzzles at all, but the gauntlet is on the other side of the scale.
Haha, increasing battle difficulty seems to mean just more enemies, not necessarily better enemy AI or things like that, which to me would be nicer. In retrospect there's always something to improve, but I'm glad you find enjoyment in the game!
