Gimp is just perfect and comfortable to me. in 8 out 10 portraits i know what i can do and how to do it...in photoshop this number like 3 
About details, more like obsession to me. I really cant stop myself to making them but on other hand they cause time and intersest loss.
So when i feel like "i need to move on to next thing" i'm almost done with it.
Poses not perfect,yeap...two different references and i had problems with skin colors in begining.
Small miracle that this really looks not so awful
