anyway, introducing (team) 'Mon's Best Friend! it consists of a duo of happy-go-lucky 'mons that vowed upon the formation of their team to put anything aside if it meant helping their peers--and possibly earning some rewards in the process. shortened to team MBF, they promise you to show you their best while serving under the Explorer's guild!

TEAM LEADER: TRISTAN

Moves:

Bonemerang - Tristan skillfully tosses the feline-femur he carries straight at the target, dealing physical damage. The way he throws it ensures that the bone catches the air and spins right back, hopefully catching the target a second time. This is a Ground-type move.

Rock Slide - Usually, this move is enacted in an environment abundant with loose stones, rocks, and chunks of earth packed into a wall or ceiling. With his femur or singular arm strength, he strategically slams the wall or digs at the dirt so the its contents tumble and fall all over the target. Can be done with rocks and stones at great heights. Deals physical damage. This is a Rock-type move.

Headbutt - Tristan lowers his head and charges as forcefully as possible at the opponent, striking them with his skull and dealing heavy physical damage. This is a Normal-type move.

Protect - With lots of concentration, Tristan enables to space around him (and possibly his partner) to become invulnerable to attacks for a limited time. He needs a moment or two to regain his bearings before he can do it again. This is a Normal-type move.

Personality: Tristan is a fairly cautious Cubone with the tendency to act on how other's portray him than to act on his own accord, to express himself as himself. He has a very "no man left behind" type of attitude--in other words, he's very loyal to his guild, friends, and partner--and will face battle without hesitation. However, meeting fights head-on is sometimes caused by Tristan just being reckless, which is a trait normally expressed in a spur of trying to prove himself. He likes to think he can best fear at its worst. He's also pretty reserved, though, and will keep many things bothering him from your ears and your knowledge. Other than that, he can strategically control his strength, and he does his best to ensure that he's selfless, kind, and honest through helping as many Pokemon as possible.

History: Tristan is a hardworking, open-minded Cubone with a literal, to-the-point outlook on life and what it holds. Raised in a desert village somewhere beyond Andalusst, Tristan began studying at a young age, eager to obtain as much knowledge of his world as possible. With effective information especially on plant life, he developed an admiration for cacti and flowers and the like. Grass-type Pokemon fascinate him. However, he usually kept to himself, finding things easier to accomplish without someone else. His studies took up a fair percentage of his time during the day.

By the time he was 12, nature took its toll on his mother and she passed away peacefully in her sleep. Tristan’s bond with his mother was very tight; while he knew that the skull of his mother was essential to a Cubone’s normal lifestyle, he fought the instinct to take it. Before deciding to leave home, he scattered various desert fauna around her body. Finally, he took off in a random direction, confident in what the future might hold.

Along the way, he did discover the skull of a deceased rodent-like Pokemon. Having faced discomfort because of his decision against his instincts, Tristan immediately took the skull into his possession and wore it from that moment on. Additionally, he gathered up the femur of a feline, most likely, and now brandishes it as a weapon.

Ability: Rattled - This ability, when activated, sets Sonja's paws on full-throttle as she is suddenly able to maneuver quicker and easier than her partner and opponent. Her ability is only activated when she's hindered by a Bug-, Ghost-, or Dark-type move.

Moves:

Howl - Sonja belts out a loud, melodious victory howl prior to their actual victory that never fails to get her going and lift her spirits. This is a Normal-type move.

Odor Sleuth - With keen eyes, Sonja seeks out a weakness in a Ghost-type Pokemon that enables the use of Fighting- or Normal-type moves against it, which would normally not even touch it. Additionally, being able to pinpoint an extremely-fast-moving target allows for perfect accuracy on her end. This is a Normal-type move.

Bite - Sonja runs at a foe head-on, jaws open, to close her sharp teeth around a part of the opponent, dealing direct, decently painful damage (she can't open her mouth wide enough to make sure her large back fangs make contact, so that's not a problem!) This is a Dark-type move.

Dig - Sonja powers through the ground with hefty, adept paws to escape an opponent's forthcoming attack. After a moment to shove aside material standing her way, she emerges to deal direct damage to an unsuspecting opponent. She'll usually erupt from the ground screaming, "Surprise attack!!", which in turn makes it the exact opposite. This is a Ground-type move, and is also done to escape impassable areas or to bury objects of interest.

Personality: Sonja was a happy, kindhearted pup from the moment Tristan met her in the fog. In a frustrated rage he had flung his femur in a classic Bonemerang attack, but the bone hadn't returned; instead, a bright-eyed Dark-type Poochyena romped into view, carrying his prized possession daintily between a set of sharp fangs primed for Biting and Crunching. But, as merrily and delightedly as possible, she let the femur drop in front of him. She took this as a conversation starter and introduced herself. Sonja's a very friendly hound with an unconditional love for Tristan, the fierceness of a Kangaskhan protecting her young, and the ingenuity of... well, she's strategic in how she works through battles, but she's a social mess and doesn't have much ingenuity outside of a fight. She's the kind of pooch you'd have to explain things thoroughly to for her to officially understand, but this is just so she can begin mentally mapping out the situation. Good dog, best friend.

History: Sonja possesses no knowledge of where she came from. A trek through the fog into Andalusst had altered her memory—soon she found she was not the only case of this. This doesn't bother her much though; by looking on the bright side, she insists afresh start must have been better for her, if she was truly meant to end up in the Explorers guild.

She seems to harbor over a notion of spirituality—she’s a big believer of spirits (not the same as Ghost-type Pokemon) and karma and fate and the like. It’s comforting to assume her destiny was to find Tristan, but perhaps the absence of her memory was a result of a bad, even horrible start. But what could have happened that was so terrible?
