I loved it! Absolutely amazing! I do agree with some of the points in Jae-Bae's critique. the flab and door stuff. I just want to see a follow up of them talking about their plans and how they'll tell tenzin. I think that this is one of the best makorra drawings out there. If I could draw like this, I don't know what I would draw (probably makorra smut e.deviantart.net/emoticons/let… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Lick)"/> )lol. Anyways, maybe go back and touch up the flab in the wrists and fix the depiction of the door. Thanks for drawing this amazing makorra fan art and I hope to see more great things from you! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

First off, nice job.

His left hand is weird. The wrist area is flabby as if he doesn't had bone support there.

Korra's left hand is off too, but not because of her had but what she's holding. If you look closer, one of the items looks as if it's been broken/snapped. It's not lined up properly from top to bottom in her hand.

Also, it's difficult to tell if the bathroom door is open inwards or outwards.

Otherwise I like the art, love the expression on his face and the little sweat mark. Nervous or regret?! Lol

Love her excitement too.

But one of the main things that sold me or rather caught my attention the most was the picture on the wall. I zoom zoom to see if I could make it out more. It looks important (to the character).

Agreed.
The only way "Canon" gives us Korrasami, leaves a bad taste in the mouth. (As basically both rebounding and assuming that they go for one another, because of lack of other options)

Since Korra and Asami hooked up later.......
I imagine that they probably both trade stories with each other
about whenever how they both got it on with Mako.

(I still feel that the ATLOK ending totally came out of left field though)

For the longest time, I had only seen the 1st season that was broadcast on TV.
This was around the time that VIACOM had a falling out with my cable TV provider, so I lost all Nickledeon channels.
Since my cable TTV provider was also my ISP, I couldn't even watch the new episodes online.

During this time, although I had not seen it, I had heard of the ending and the whole "Korrasami" thing.
Which of course made me scratch my head and say "Huh", "Wait, what now?", "Howzzat?", etc. etc etc.
So I had to wait for the whole ATLOK series to be released on DVD before I saw it.
Even though I was buying these DVD sets as they came out, I chose not to watch them immediately.
Rather, I waited until I had the entire series before viewing it.

So after I had acquired all said collections I sat down and watched them all ala'marathin style over the course of a weekend.
I went ahead and started with the 1st season even though I had seen those episodes already.
And having pre-knowledge of the upcoming show ending,
I looked for various clues, hints, innuendos, foreshadowing, subtle nuances, or something.......anything.
ANY little and/or big "things" or scenes to show Korra's and Asami's friendship growing to be more than just that.

There was none.

This of course is subjective....maybe you or someone else did see something throughout the episodes that I didn't.
I dunno if the writers were being lazy or something,
but I do get the vibe that the "Korrasami" thing was not a concept for the show from the beginning.
Which turned out to be true....it was thrown in there relatively late in production.
But why? Probably for the sake of being socially progressive rather than for the sake of the show itself.
I can't help but think that even the lesbian and bi community must have called foul on this too.

I still love this series, and theΒ "Korrasami" thing does not make it a show killer for me by any means
But that's why, to this day, I still say that the ATLOK ending totally came out of left field.

With all due respect, that is actually where you are wrong. The thing is, people tend to let their heteronormative tendencies overtake them and/or expecting there to be a strict divide between being gay and being straight (in some ways, there isn't even that much of a gap between love and friendship either. Romantic relationship is essentially just friendship with a more passionate bond). And if you were looking for innuendos or stuff like that, I think you were expecting Korrasami to be a "will they/won't they" route, which is kinda overplayed and they already went that route with Katara x Aang, Sokka x Suki, Kai x Jinora, Mako x Korra, Bolin x Opal etc. Did Korra x Asami really have to be yet another one?
But then there's another thing people don't realize. The fact that there is more than one way to express love and also the fact that it's very common for romantic relationships to evolve from mere friendships. Besides, them entering a romantic relationship doesn't mean they stopped being friends.

But there were plenty of Korrasami hints in the show. Aside from all the obvious Kataang parallels, the Korrasami moments take place in conversations (I mean, come on, the conversation they had right before Jinora's ceremony, it's impossible to say that was strictly platonic). Such as when Asami was willing to leave everything behind to accompany Korra to the south pole, when Korra only wrote back to Asami during her recuperation (and specifically requested Asami not to tell Mako and Bolin about that, indicating that she was more comfortable with opening up to Asami than to Mako and Bolin or even to her own parents). It's also very important to remember that it's the time they spent apart from each other that strengthened their love more than ever, just as it did for Zaheer and P'Li. In fact, separation is usually what makes people realize how they truly feel about each other. And of course, there were also some minor hints like Korra blushing when Asami said she liked her new haircut, Mako suspiciously asking the girls what their deal was (followed by Korra changing the subject to avoid talking about it) and Asami smirking as she tricked Tenzin to go look for Varrick so she could be alone with Korra etc.

"Which turned out to be true....it was thrown in there relatively late in production."
That's not true though. According to the creators, they actually wanted to make Korra LGBT from the beginning, but weren't sure if they should go with it or not. It wasn't until the late production of Book 2 when they decided to give it a shot, starting with Book 3. And they only did it because they didn't like pairing her up with Mako anymore and felt that Asami was the only logical romantic interest for Korra as they share an interesting dynamic and also because Katie Mattila asked "doesn't the hero always get the girl?" XD.
"But why? Probably for the sake of being socially progressive rather than for the sake of the show itself."
It was no more or less progressive than all the feminism we saw in ATLA. Were the writers trying to be progressive with the introduction of Korrasami? Yes, they were. Because LGBT had been very underrepresented in youth entertainment and it was time to take the first step. Did they do it for the sake of being progressive? No, they did not. An LGBT in the world of Avatar isn't even more or less progressive than anything we've seen before when you think about it. After all, didn't both series emphasize heavily on gender diversity, feminism, racial diversity, harmony and tolerance? Didn't Katara fight for her right to be educated in the northern Water Tribe? Didn't Zuko deny the Fire Nation's ideology of superiority? Didn't Toph demand to be treated like an equal despite being handicapped? Didn't Sokka stop being a misogynist asshole once he humbled himself before a female instructor and saw that abilities aren't defined by genders? Didn't Amon and the Equalists demand nonbenders to be treated with the same respect that benders have and to have a voice in society? Wasn't Korra openly against Tarrlok blaming all nonbenders for the actions of the Equalists? Didn't Bolin defect Kuvira's army when he learned the "reeducation camps" were intended for ethnic cleansing rather than rehabilitation?

Like I said, Asami was paired up with Korra because the writers felt she was the only logical match for her. It also shows how much they've both matured since the day they met. Their relationship with Mako was nothing but teenage love that faded away after hitting them hard and they misinterpreted that as true love. Korrasami, however, was based on maturity and experience, as they were allowed to be simple friends who grew to care more and more about each other as the series progressed. Avatar: The Legend of Korra is primarily a character-driven show, and Korrasami is one of the things that developed Korra and Asami as characters.

"I can't help but think that even the lesbian and bi community must have called foul on this too."
I don't know. But all evidence seem to point out that the LGBT community actually reacted positively to Korrasami. Even Irene Koh, the artist of the Turf Wars graphic novel trilogy, is bisexual and she actually found it pretty relatable.

However, I do admit that Korrasami was pretty subtle, but that's not a bad thing, nor does it mean that it came out of nowhere. If anyone proclaimed their love out of nowhere, it was Varrick and Zhu Li (Zhu Li becoming all independent especially felt very sudden. They should have at least showed her complaining about Varrick treating her like a doormat earlier in the series to indicate that she does have opinions about things. But this is only a minor flaw that shouldn't really bother anyone). But like I said, there are other ways to express love and there is more than one way for a relationship to develop. And Korrasami went with those alternatives. Going from teenage girls who bonded through their interest in excitement and action, to maturing individuals who grew more attached to each other in their adventures, to young women who realized their true feelings for each other with the time they spent apart from each other. If you ask me, screenwriters could learn a lot from this romance story.

Sorry for the long post.

Don't worry about a "long post".
I always prefer it when people type/say what they think, and then back it up.
(alas, not "backing it up" seems to be more common on the internet).
I have to say that you've given me some points to reflect on.
Although I've watch particular episodes more than once, perhaps I should view the whole ATLOK a 2nd time.

I'm certain that the series was praised by the lesbian and bi communities.
I'm not a writer myself nor any kind of pro-critic,
but I do get the feeling that they may have done so for the sake of the show merelyΒ having done this in the 1st place.
As just a viewer, and from a writing POV (yes from a non-writer) the show's ending still left me scratching my head.
If the writers did intend to go this route from the start....then they really should have.

The point of Korra's bisexual preferences could have started there.
Dunno exactly how the love trianglesΒ from the 1st season.
(Bolin-Korra-Mako and then later Korra-Mako-Asami)
might have turned out differently...or maybe not have been different at all.
Obviously with the Equalists storyline in play at that time, they couldn't have delved into this too much anyway,
but do believe that the ending could have been better served by doing something here.
Maybe either in the middle or around the end of the episode run,
but definitely somewhere around this time of the show.

I still feel the same about the ending....for now.
But again, maybe after a 2nd viewing I may change my mind about it.
It's always fun to talk about these things with other fans.

Thanx for the reply.
