Description
In 2007, Philippine Navy had Aquired Shore Based Air Defense Systems in a Form of 9K37M1 Buk-M1 (NATO : SA-11 Grizzly) as a Supplement to MIM-23 HAWK Missile battery

The Philippines Purchased 2 Buk-M1 Batteries and 2 9S18M1 Radars (3 Launchers per Battery) and 28 Missiles From Czech Republic that was inherited from Former Czechoslovakian Army between 2007 to 2009 when the Warsaw pact Fell and Disbanded.

2 More Buk-M1 Batteries and 25 Missiles from Romania and 2 Radars from Polish Stocks where Brought between 2011 to 2013 as Romania and Poland Phased out it's Buk Missile batteries in favor of more modern western made ones.

In Early 2017, Elbit Systems and Ukroboronprom Upgraded the Buk-M1 SAM Systems to Buk M1-2 Standard.

As of 2023, Philippine Navy had plans to Replace the MIM-23 HAWK systems with NASAMS Which is in Service with Philippine Army.
