The Ukrainian army is a 600,000-strong conscript army.
There is also a territorial militia which is around 200,000 strong and made up of volunteers

The technology of the Ukrainian army's weapon systems is a mix of Soviet, Western and Israeli technology.

Since Russia became more and more aggressive over the decades and declared the Soviet Union again in 2006, Ukraine was forced to rearm again in the early 2000s despite its nuclear weapons, even if this was expensive, but this was due to the newly discovered resources in the east of the country problem to be overcome.
Since its independence, Ukraine had built up its own defense industry and used reverse engineering to become independent in most areas. Where it wasn't possible or wasn't worth it, license production facilities were simply built and cooperation with other countries was carried out in the development of new systems.
The most expensive reverse engineering project was that of the S-300 and the Buk, but it was worth it for the military because the systems are now compatible with NATO air defense and the supply of the missiles was now independent of other nations.
When the S-300 was modernized, a capability to defend against ballistic missiles was integrated and a cheaper missile for short range (80 km range, comparable to the S-350 missile).
In total, Ukraine has 1900 strategic nuclear weapons and 600 tactical ones.
Land-based cruise missiles, air-launched cruise missiles and land-based ballistic missiles serve as delivery systems for the nuclear weapons.
