Description Years ago, I remember seeing this one article about dwarven heros - one of whom fought with two enchanted axes, throwing the first, striking out at his foes with the second, catching the first axe and repeating the process.

Man, I thought that was a cool idea. So here's my take on it.

Oh yeah. And thanks to the tiefling core race, I can finally play a Satyxis in mainstream D&D! I am SO STOKED!

Wow. Nice shading work on the armor there. That's hard to do with pencil and ink. Very nice.

Thanks!

The grayscale is from those gray brush pens which come in sets. I didn't have my "real" markers with me, and think the real trick to using these little brush guys effectively was to just be fast and loose with 'em rather than try to color solidly like you would with a regular marker.

Yeah... shame about the rules.

I dunno. I like 4e so far; it's so completely different from 3.5 that I can still like both just fine.

There are some things I don't like of course. I'm still not enthusiastic about Warlords, wish they'd come out with Druid and Monk classes, and I truly wish there were some standard for the powers that monsters get. Most of all I really hate the re-use of old art in the Monster Manual. I like Wayne Reynolds' art a lot, which means I'd like to see new stuff that he's done, and I'd feel better knowing WotC threw more money at him for it.

I agree with you about Wayne Reynolds. That guy can draw! The other character classes will probably come out wit the player's handbook II. I don't like the Warlord either.
I've said this before in other places, but I'll say it again. I don't have a problem with the game, just with WotC's insistence that D&D is still a role playing game. It isn't anymore. They removed a huge chunk of the role playing element, do not give any guidelines or help in running role playing elements in the game, and heavily gear the game towards min-maxing, ability stacking and buying their frigging collectible miniatures! It is an adventure board game at best now. If they had the good graces to admit this, everything would be fine. The game itself is a lot of fun and I could play quite happily, but I'd go elsewhere for actual roleplaying. I expect a LOT more from one of the giants of the industry.

Plus, do a bit of research and check out the glaring similarities between 4th ed. D&D and World of Warcraft (eg: between the new look Tieflings and Dranei). They are so alike in places it is almost laughable. I am suprised Blizzard hasn't sued them yet for plagiarism.
