I made this costume back in 2009 or so, but never did get to photographing it! It's been to several conventions and parades with me now. It'll be at Fanime and Anime Expo this year once I repair it some.The ears are about 2.5 feet long, and the tail is maybe 3.5 feet long. The paws have pink paw pads on them.
The eyes are not very easy to see out of... I originally made them out of socks because my fur came in at the last minute and so the costume ended up being made from scratch in 48 hours before Fanime. I'll probably replace the pupil fabric with mesh.
The head and ears are foam-based.

Umbreon is one of my favorite pokemon. The pokedex says that it's scary but I have a slight fear of the dark and it also says that the rings on it's body glow so when I was younger I thought of how great an umbreon would be as a pet.

Umbreon seems so popular in cosplay. I even seen a guy at the 'local' anime central with an umbreon costume on, there wasn't even any events on that month on anything. Yours is the best one I've seen though albeit not in real life.

Thank you! Literally just foam and scissors to begin with, haha, then fabric glue and faux fur. The eyes are fun foam, and there's some wiring in the ears, otherwise, that's all!

How hard are these to make? I'm an okay sewer, whita machine that is qite hard to use and breaks often. I'm on a quite small budget, and I'm wondering if it would be easier to make one, or to buy one.

Sewing fur is tough! I'd recommend having a seamstress or someone with a good machine do it because the needles break easily and the fur is thick. The fur gets everywhere, too, haha.
The heads aren't too bad to make, though, just require having a good eye for detail, being thoughtful with how you construct it, and foam and glue and whatnot! I did this head mostly in the forty-eight hours before Fanime several years back, but this wasn't my first mascot head. This was my first one with foam, though, and I like it--it's durable, but lightweight and easy t do whatever you want with. Not expensive, either.

OKay, I jsut figures out what was wrong wiht my machine, and its working alot better now! And I'm either going to work with fleece or plush.

Holy crap, this is AMAZING. Y'don't see too many costumes that leave out the human face/arms/etc entirely, much less as good a design as this. Would love to see some more pics in different poses.
