...is the name of this cute little frog.
It's the name I call her...not the name of her species. She is a Golden Tree frog.

Oh no...just frogs that are of the same size and similar habitat requirements. I know a lot of herp keepers will not do that but if you go to zoos and see their set-ups...many of them mix animals. It's ok to do so as long as they are compatible with each other.

Cuban tree frogs are one of them! They are a cute frog species but you have to make sure you house them with either exact same size or slightly larger frogs b/c they will eat smaller ones!

I breed the ball pythons and plan on also breeding the corns and hognose snakes...once they are old enough. As for the frogs....maybe...and that's a BIG maybe...start breeding the horned frogs. But there is a lot more involved in them then with snakes. I just really love frogs and they are like potato chips...can't have just one!

She's so pretty! I love frogs, they're absolutely wonderful. Someday when I get into a bigger apartment and have the room, I want to get into keeping different kinds of tree frogs.

Tree frogs can be really easy to care for...some can live very long too.

My toad lets me hand feed him! Blew my mind the first time he did it. Too bad the crickets give me the heebee jeebies and I hate touching them XD

I love it when toads see something they want to eat. They get so excited their little toes start to twitch.

It's funny because for a while I had my gecko's container next to the toad's, but I had to separate them because Mr. Toady would just sit in the corner and stare at the gecko all day
I don't know what it is about crickets but they totally gross me out. Which is funny since I feed most of them to giant, fuzzy spiders XD

Honestly, I think that's what he was expecting XD He gets all excited the minute he sees movement of anything even remotely food-like, it's hilarious.
I have 8 tarantulas at home at the moment, but most are pretty small and still babies. I'm hoping to pick up at least one or two more at the expo, depending on what's there. It's fun because I've gotten a lot of my friends to get interested in them and less scared.
I don't blame you with the maggot-like thing. Superworms totally weird me out. Too bitey and wriggly and D:

It definitely is nice to see new people I meet start to find a good interests in herptiles when they originally where afraid of them. I have found that a lot of the fear is mostly misunderstanding. My husband is actually a big example of someone that was extremely afraid of snakes until he got to know mine. He still will not handle them much (unless I am there) but he talks to them and will help me out as much as he can with them. It is b/c of him that my collection has grown the way it has too.
Oh and Superworms are NASTY! My husband will handle them without any problems but I will not dare touch them with my bare hands...yuck!
