Ha ha...i'm running out of wrinkly yellow envelope to draw on. That's not really funny.There are seals at the oregon coast!

lol, actually, i had wanted to draw a Selkie originally....which is like an irish mermaid..cept with seal instad of fish. Ever seen Secret of Roan Inish?

Ooo, i've heard of that movie, and wanted to see it, but sadly haven't.. ._. But it does remind me of Icelandic folk-lore, which also has these 'selkies', except they're actually human shaped, and have seal-suits on. Then there was this one guy who spied the seal-people doing something without their suits on, and napped one of the suits, and the next day he had a brand new prettywoman on his hands. So he locked the suit in a dresser, married the lady and had some seven kids by her and they lived happily ever after.. except! *insert drama* She found the suit, and said something like 'seven kids on shore, seven in the sea', put the suit on, and poor old farmerboy was left behind with seven kids on his hands to feed and clothe.
That should teach you not to go around stealing seal-suits, tut tut..

did you know when the seals want to intimidate each other they say 'ar ar GUH' and with GUH they spray saliva on their foe? I saw it happen once and I couldn't stop laughing. this drawing is amazing. how did you get the texture on his back, is it paint?
