It's pretty ironic that you say you love this series, while you bash Stephenie Meyer for her lack of originality. You are aware that the whole concept of "about these games that children aged 12 to 17 (I believe) have to fight to win....[where] Winning means everything[,] Losing means certain death....Only one survivor. Pretty much everyone dies" was done years ago under the title Battle Royale, right?
'swhy I hate these books.

I know they aren't the most original, but they are written a whole lot better than Twilight is. Yes, there are things I don't like about HG but thats with everything. The thing is NOTHING Meyer does or has is original.
I do know the flaws of the books I read. Its how the idea is conveyed the makes original or not.
And...I've never heard of Battle Royale before...

Yes I have. I wasn't as crazy about it as the rest of the books, but I still loved the series. Have you read it?

Yeah. Catching Fire I didn't mind, but it seemed a bit repeating the first one. Still good though. While I did like certain things in Mockingjay, I just think she cut things a bit too short and didn't explain everything as well as I would have liked. I mean her sister dies, and that's it. It took me a couple times reading to realize that's what happened. Gale goes to another district and it's like, oh, he left. Whatever. The guy was in love with her, and that's it. She thinks she's in love with him, and she's okay she never sees him again. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for Peeta/Katniss, I just think Gale should have gotten some notice of something. You know? And everyone died! D: Some I didn't realized they died till later in the book. I was a bit upset with some that died, but I understand they had to. I was okay with it.
Overall, I would buy the book. (I'm cheap and it has to be a very good book for me to buy it. I usually get my books from the library. ) I think some of it could have been better, but I did enjoy reading it. I got the first one, now I just need to get the other two. I'm also lazy.

I completely agree, but at the same time I don't think she wanted to drag out the book. For example, Finnick was one of my absolute favorite characters, and literally it was like "Finnick died." and that was it. No more than that. I mean, I think she could have added /something/ more to it.
And I agree with the Gale thing, too. Gale was a great character and I think he deserved a lot more. I think his going to another district was kind of an 'easy way out' for the plot. (This is coming from an avid Gale/Katniss supporter lol)

Exactly. I do think there were certain things, like Finnicks death, that were perfect the way they were. Then it seems that it was just one of those, eh, I don't care, I just want this to end, sort of feel to it. I don't know... Maybe it's just me. The writer/editor in me who wants something else. I get picky at times.
I know! I liked him, but just thought Peeta was better for Katniss, but the way he was just brushed off like that... Yeah, it was a disappointment. It was like she didn't want the drama anymore and had Gale decide for Katniss that she should be with Peeta. Oh well. Can't complain too much. I'm curious how this movie is going to play out as well. As long as it doesn't bomb, I'll be okay with whatever they do.

Me too. I really really really hope the movie is great. I just hope it doesn't get /so/ big that people start hating it, like Twi-suck. XD
