Description Did you know that this is the symbol of Venice? It's also used in various european heraldry.
This is an oil on canvas painting. The lion was referenced by photos I took at the zoo.

I love the movement on the hair of his mane. Very well drawn and very difficult for most artists to draw. You state in the captions that this is a progression drawing, have you done any more to the picture recently? I would like to see any new progress you have made on this.

I must admit...when I first saw this I was like this -->

The colors, the anatomy, the background, the softness....everything works well in the picture. Besides I love winged lions hehe.
His expression is amazing, it shows peace but he looks powerful too

Ypu got the wings impressively well drawn too!
