Awesome. One of my favorite units in Red Alert 2. So long as nothing get's a shot in at them. I always loved to Chrono a ton of these things right into the main Soviet base in the final Allied mission.

I don't know, German panzers are usually very tough. The Russians got the upper hand only through numbers.
They'd be much stronger if they were German design.

Very cool!
After 1969 we had the MG3, it has another caliber than the MG42 and less RPM.

Its on the to do list. I might try that one sooner than later since it would be a little easier to do than a tank or something. Thanks again for the comment!

In the book series what kind of APC if any the Germans end up using isn't mentioned. They might have gone for an early Marder.

Placing Red Alert units in a more technical/realistic context made me start imagining Red Alert units in World in Conflict, since I have played, and love, both.
I might go and look at the WiC classes and see which RA units fit.

Well, if you get the chance, you should definitely take a look. Unfortunately I can't play it either, as the computer now refuses to run it.

This entire series is quite interesting - I've always figured there was more to the RA1/2 tanks than the sprites and voxels let on - in fact, I have personal theories that what each in-game unit represents varies per in-game faction. Your Challenger, Grizzly, and Rhino tanks reflect that (and the reference to the Leopard I - could that be the German RA1 Medium Tank?)
At some point, you should expand this to the Tiberian universe - what you think the C&C1 Medium Tank is (I personally think it to vary depending on where the mission is - it could be a Leopard, Leclerc, Abrams, Challenger-II, or even a Merkava), along with the Light Tank (either the M2 Bradley, T-54/55, or various other tanks), Tick Tank (which should be interesting), and various others. Though, the tanks I named are just my opinion - it's quite hard to tell what exactly the sprite is supposed to be.

I've always been a Red Alert fan so I never payed Tiberian C&C.
As to dealing with the history of stuff I mention,
As I envision the Red Alert universe I tend to mix the real stuff with the game. So like you were taking about the medium tank, I think that just applies to a series of medium to heavy tanks done by the Allies. For the British they field Centurions during the first Red Alert, the Germans use upgraded Panthers, America uses M48s. The light tanks can be upgraded Shermans and Panzer IVs.
Even though their allied, the Europeans and Americans aren't going to use the same tank. However like NATO they'll do a lot of the same weapons like the 105 cannon and small arms calibers.
Anyway might do a simple timeline of my verision of the Red Alert universe in the future. If so I'll share it here as well.
Thanks again for all the comments Oberst!
