Now, I have to be honest with you guys. This fan art has got to be one of the most emotional and heartbreaking drawings I've ever made of Transformers: Prime. Like literally! I was beginning to cry at this fan art because it was inspired by an episode of Futurama where Hermes Conrad didn't wanna throw away Bender when he was a little baby and it was also inspired by an episode of Steven Universe where Greg raised Steven as a baby. You'd probably be wondering how Smokescreen would react if Megatron revealed to him that he was there when his mom died after he helped her deliver Smokescreen as a newborn sparkling and that Megatron wanted to adopt him as his own adopted son and raise him just as Terminus had raised him, but he didn't because he didn't had the money to become an adopted father.

Before the beginning of the Great War, before Megatron turned evil, he was on his way home from work when he met a pregnant femme bot and Megatron agreed to help walk with her to the nursery at Iacon when her water suddenly broke. Megatron helped the femme bot deliver her sparkling and after hours of helping the femme bot in labor, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. But sadly, the femme bot died of childbirth and Megatron never knew her conjunx-endura, so he decided to call for help and after a while, Megatron brought the baby over to the nursery where he began to take care of the sparkling whom he decided to name, Smokescreen, and Megatron thought about adopting him just as Terminus adopted him at the Energon Mines and taught him every he know when Megatron was a child named, D-16. (Of course, I have already mentioned that) But Megatron didn't had the budget to adopt Smokescreen, so he gave the newborn sparkling to an Autobot couple and they agreed to adopt the orphan baby. Tears ran down Megatron's optics as he felt sad because he didn't want to say goodbye to the most precious thing in all of creation he'd ever met and he loved Smokescreen as a surrogate son when he was born and just after his mother had died of childbirth. The Autobots promised Megatron that he would be Smokescreen's guardian, but then it would never ever happen when Megatron became evil under The Fallen's corrupting influence before he would eventually become the tyrannical warlord and leader of the Decepticons. As thousands of years went by, Megatron had forgotten about Smokescreen and the day he helped his carrier deliver him as a newborn sparkling. Now in the Present Day, Megatron is reformed and is no longer the evil Decepticon warlord that he was but he doesn't want to be an Autobot, but rather be a grandfather and a retired leader who wants to leave the past behind him and move on with his family and friends. When Megatron got to know Smokescreen and he mentioned how his mom died when he was a baby and that he never knew his father, Megatron started to remember before he felt shocked and sad that he couldn't be there for Smokescreen.
