Description
Prince Solaris is the eldest son of Queen Celestia and Good King Sombra (Reflections Saga), and he is the big brother of Prince Eclipse and Princess Estrella. He is Princess Luna’s nephew and a cousin to Orion, Apollo, and Selena. As a prince, he knew that he was destined to be the new ruler of Equestria, so he tried to prove himself worthy of becoming the true heir to the throne by attempting to destroy Lord Tirek—the evil power-hungry centaur who rules the Kingdom of Midnight and whose goal is to resurrect Emperor Grogar and take over the world. However, when Celestia scolded Solaris for almost getting himself captured or killed, Solaris felt humiliated by Megan Williams and Twilight Sparkle because they were the real heroes and not him. Solaris’ flaws show that he’s selfish, stubborn, rebellious, and unkind to others. Solaris grew jealous of his siblings when his parents gave them more love and support. Then he tried to steal the Elements of Harmony so that he can use them for himself and prove that he is the rightful ruler of Equestria. However, this led to Solaris’ downfall when his parents told him that he could never be the new ruler of Equestria because of his self-absorbed behavior and jealousy towards his brother and sister. Solaris eventually blamed himself for failing to be the worthy successor to his mother and father before he met Lady Rabia—the Mother and Leader of the Umbrum (shadow ponies) and she offered him to join her and Lord Tirek’s “Legion of Doom” so that he can rebel against Queen Celestia and take over Canterlot and then all of Equestria will bow before him.
