Shhhhhhh....Seymour is snoozing. This miniature cat sculpture was created by hand in 1:12 scale using polymer clay and fine wire in the legs, neck and tail. After the sculpture was cured in the oven, it was painted and given an applied creamsicle coat of smooth, soft alpaca fibers and powder-fine flock. His tiny whiskers were individually inserted one-by-one and set with glue. Seymour was sold at auction July 2011 and lives happily in his new home.Related content

These are just so adorable and amazing. Just curious, I know you said these are one of a kind... but my question is if you take any commissions for one made for you to resemble one of our own real cats.

I mostly take commissions of someone's real life pet they want in miniature scale, and will work from customer supplied photos.
If I am asked to make a pet 'exactly' (i.e., same pose, size & coat color) like a sculpture I have already made -- I generally explain that I would prefer not to duplicate someone's special pet sculpture.
However, I can and will make a piece 'similar' in coat color if their particular pet has the same markings, etc., and just change up the pose slightly if that is the typical character of their pet -- I just choose not to create multiple cookie-cutter sculpts (if you know what I mean).

Yes - there are some mind-blowing miniatures out there. Many of the things you see everyday in real life have been miniaturized by someone somewhere.

Thank you! I do not take many photos with my hands next to the miniature animals to show size. I would much rather use miniature props to help make the scene look real

I wish I had more hours in a day to make miniatures -- but, I limit my time in the studio because I need balance in my life. Otherwise, my sculpting could become "have to" work and kill the joy of creating.
