Time flys! It has been awhile since I have posted anything new here on DA
Just been busy in the studio sculpting an inventory of animals for an upcoming Miniature Masterworks show that will be held at the National Toy and Miniatures Museum (Kansas City) on September 15-17, 2017. This little sleeping kitty will be one of the many original sculptures available for direct purchase off my show table. That beautiful vintage silk pillow with tiny tassels in the photo was made by Raffaele Tiozzo (an Italian dollhouse miniature artist extraordinaire).

Heavens no! I do NOT use cat fur (nor rabbit, mink, fox, mole, ermine, etc.). The majority of my animals are furred using commercial yarns (combed out) or raw natural fiber purchased from farms consisting of wool, alpaca, cashmere, mohair, and sometimes silk or cotton thread

lol -- "most of the time" -- unless your cat is a holy terror that likes to run around the house all night and knock things over, etc. Typically, these are the cats that sleep all day, play all night.

It's OK to drop them as they are basically cured polymer clay with a fairly sturdy wire armature. I've done it many times and can tell you they tend to bounce cuz they don't weigh much.
