Full View PleaseSubmission for AnimeSuki.com's mascot competition. ^^
As 'suki' mean 'to like' in Japanese, I wanted to make a theme of it:
I chose the main character to be a human kitsune (through watching Ran at the time) even though I knew it wasn't a very original idea. I thought kitsune fit the theme of 'love' very well as in Chinese and Japanese legend they are renowed to have seduced men. AnimeSuki considers itself an intelligent site, so I thought that using 'love' in the clever way kitsune do when they manipulate men, would result in an intelligent and beautiful character; though atrociously sexy as to offend! X3
Kitsune can change their form. I decided that her outfit could also change form which would in turn give the character its flexability. Here, her kimono is acting as a blanket to keep this little Daruma warm (as she demonstrates with the other one- a little Sake always helps).
The kitsune's name btw is: Sayuri ('small lily') Suki.

This is very beautiful! Like all your work, I really love the simple colour schemes. It's very...Japanese. Hah hah. It reminds me of simple elegance mixed with the patterns...Yeah.

tbh- I'm not overly fond of anthros myself but somehow usually end up drawing them. >< Sayuri on the other hand is somewhat of a satire (long story~). So I'm glad you find some sort of attraction with her.

I think i just went into a diabetic shock. That is so adorable. The daruma's expression at the top made me giggle. I love the traditional japanese style you incorperated into the picture, it helps soften the cavity-inducing sugary cuteness a little bit XD which works very nicely.

I have been rather busy,
I love the decrotive design on her out fit. I need to learn how to do that- it looks like a pattern of some kind, but i have seen other- oops sorry rambbling...
I like the kimoto very nice, the pice has such a wondeful japanese Cutural feel to it. Granted i does reminded me of Inu-yasha, mainly becase of the Cultrual mythological reference. (Granted it was the deep mythological and cultral references in the anime that made me like it, but it was the hack-knee lame and preditable plots that made me hate it.)
But anyway, though it may have some Chinese background, i really enjoy your explination and the look of the charater.

Naah- no offense or anything taken. Long as it isn't *accusing* of stealing another's character traits then comparrisons are fine..! @_@ Well, if I don't win the animesuki contest- I will probably still keep this character for my own AND do a surrealist manga feat. her.
