That cage is real narrow so photography is a pain. And it doesn't give much privacy to the poor birds.

The keepers named her Gracie and her mate George from the George Burns & Gracie fame. Needless to say, the keepers must be kinda old in the tooth.

I totally agree that there should be a photographer in the exhibit design team. New exhibits now a days do well to suit the animal needs, but seeing them is next to impossible with all of their hiding spots.

With this one there is no hiding spots to speak of, but the best viewing is from the road that's only open to busses. They are using more plexiglass but the plexi just reflects the background behind them and are worse than the wire. The zoo doesn't keep the plexi clean and the plexi is usually scratched up by either the animals or the kids. The sign at the park entrance that says no commercial photograpy is allowed pretty much gives the clue that they are not friendly to photographers with anything more than a box camera.
