Description Parasarolophus walkeri is an average sized hadrosaur from North America that lived during the Campanian age in North America and the Maastritchian age in Asia. Parasaurolophus' crests have two interesting adaptations.  One of the more widely know adaptations is the presence of internal hollow structures. Since these structures connect to the nostrils they were most likely used to channel air and produce noise.
and Thuat came out with some information on a specimen of parasaurolophus they had just seen. The parasaurolophus specimen had a partially preserved structure emitting from the sides of it's crest, This was likely a display structure.  The composition of the structure is unknown. It is possible that the structure could have been made of skin, or even keratin.

Colors are based off of Rocky mountain elk and grackle

True, however there is a bit of preserved soft tissue indicating some form of expansion

Bac0nm0rph In reply to Paleop [2018-08-05 15:34:11 +0000 UTC]

While I cannot refute there was some kind of expansion, I doubt it was a flap as shown in other media. The keratin idea a do like however
Another thing to note is how the two (three if you lump Prosaurolophus) show different integument types, something you may wish to look into for further detailing

nice para's!!!

But wasnt there that hadrosaur from Hell Creek which may have been Parasaurolophus? (i understand why it aint here, to sketchy) (i just remember you always had it there)

And it also looks like Parasaurolophus did some exploring too!!!!

All we know about it was that it was a lambeosaur.
Also it might be a hypacrosaur.

This looks great!

I would have made the species have more variation in their color scheme, but oh well.

I would have too, but having them remain colored in was a last minute decision.

I love how they look though I may had enjoyed more variation between species, but oh well. It looks fantastic.

They were originally going to be silhouettes. I decided to keep them colored in as a last minute decision. I would have given them more color variation if they were meant to be full fledged releases.

thank you though

Corallianassa [2017-03-19 07:48:42 +0000 UTC]

Very nice!
But why are they all the same colour? In modern dinosaurs, and grazers, the colours vary more than that between species in genera, right?

Thank you

Large animals in the same genus don't tend to change much in colorscheme. Granted that is going off of mammals and crocodiles.
