Really nice work with the textures and feathers. The shading is great as well! I love raptors and I'm glad you have depicted the correct feathered form (instead of the usual bald Jurassic Park type). Great job!

The lighting in this piece is amazing. I love the shimmery effect you created with the highlights on the eyes and claws. Overall, your image is mesmerizing. I think that I could look at it all day. How long did it take you to create this?

your raptor has beautiful eyes, though I don't believe in the feathery kind. give me scaly version any day.

Feathers on Sinornithosaurus isn't something to believe or disbelieve - it's one of the most important fossils that has been found with irrefutable feather imprints, no conjecture necessary.

really? I'm not up to date on the sinornithosaurus species directly. I was speaking more of raptors in general. But if evidence shows inrefutably that they do in fact have feathers then it's simply something I have to accept regardless.
Though I prefer their art without feathers. On a side note though, I really enjoy your reflection of life and curiousity in this creature. He/she looks very intense but not violent even if there is potential for it. Quite lovely actually. Love your dinowork.

Please refer to them as dromeasaurs not raptors, secondly I personally think feathers makesmall to medium sized therapods look cool instead of like pissy lizards.

Reptillian Dromeasaurs to me always felt slow, stupid and ugly, something that just served to be crushed under any larger predators foot, nothing more than vermin. The birdlike look gave them a feeling of incredible speed, terrifying intelligence and the ability to us amazing group coordination. in the end I hate what Jurassic Park has accidentally spawned seeing as they made their "Velociraptors" as birdlike as possible, removing their snake tongues, mildly undilating the eyes and much more even though the f#@ked them up in so many ways. In the end I feel like people should see the irony in saying something along the lines of "It looks like a six foot turkey/chicken." but I guess that is an opinion.

well this is of course dependent on your introduction to dromies. my first visual to a dromi was a deinonychus solo slamming into a full grown iguanadont, one leg imbedding itself in the lizards chest and the secod into its stomach. the power and agility felt in that image has stayed with me. and thus i view dromies as that original raptor. elusively weak looking but surprisingly powerful.
i wouldn't be bothered by the feathers if people didn't draw them like they had bloody eagle wings attached to their arms. thus the look lends itself to a turkey vulture with arms that drag on the body and rather then making it look sleaker it makes it look more awkward and slowed. so thus, to each of us our own opinion on the matter, based on appearance. speaking of... here's a piece i drew myself of a reptilian raptor. not nearly as skinny as the regs people draw or wimpy looking. :thumb234706605: (though it may be off somewhat due to possible anthromophication.)
