Elasmosaurus. Species: E. platyurus, E. morgani, E. serpentines, E. snowii. Meaning of name: Metal plate lizard.

Kansas, USA. Campanian stage of the late Cretaceous,

Classification: Plesiosauria.

Length: 12m.

Lifestyle: Piscivore.

I have reworked this image to recreate the warmer environment of the Western Interior Seaway.

Oh yes of course. I can tell from the shape of the shark (had two dorsal fins that would've helped it to steer with precision). I mostly think of it as being a Jurassic shark but was quite long lived. A good depiction of the Elasmosaurus as well.

I made the Plesiosaur out of the shark that I made out of a fish that I made out of a dragonfly wing that I drew. Isn’t Photoshop evolution a wonderful thing?!

Thanks W, the shark is Hybodus; they both lived in the Campanian stage of the late Cretaceous
