Description Technically a WIP, but I've been putting a lot of work into this. Also because many of people who this is for haven't seen how it's progessing, well, this is for you.

I decided to make a piece of gift art for everyone in an epic campaign I'm in. There are eight players (including the DM) and three of them have cohorts. It wouldn't be fair to draw a large group of them and not the other ones, so I tried to fit them all in. Yeah. Yeaah.

Many of them also either did not have a full picture drawn out, or I attempted to draw them entirely from memory. So uh. Yeah, it also involved some design work, and I apologize to the owners of the characters who I viciously slaughtered.

from left to right, top to bottom: Scharr, Helga, Raiden, Nooner (the stupid looking dog), Masarae, Rillien, Olio, Betty Marie, Adonis, Sonny, Sonny's cohort (I don't know her name >: ), Aspen, Kaaltor, Nerull and Pelor.

I'm hoping color will make it less busy. but probably not.

Oh man that's freaking awesome! You got aspen pretty much right on, even though I don't think you've seen my drawings of her :] Also masare must have taken you forever. So many chains!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Palidoozy In reply to pinkpirate [2009-03-30 21:26:37 +0000 UTC]

Sweet! I was worried about Aspen, lol. To be honest I didn't even know where to begin with her outfit... so I kind of looked at loremaster's clothing and altered it from there.

Masare did take the longest out of all the characters. >: Helga was next, as I didn't really draw her armor very well in the sketch.

haha, I need to do a painting of her one of these days. All I have is sketchbook sketches. Anyhow your line work is *amazing* and I want to eat it. For breakfast. Every day of the week!

That'd be rockin' man! Paintings are pretty coolios.

Do you at least eat my linework with milk? I tried it with water once--it wasn't very good.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Palidoozy In reply to Jackdorian [2009-03-30 21:27:26 +0000 UTC]

Pelor is the dude up at the right chillin' there. It's a supercrazyepic campaign, so the party is running into gods left and right.

D: It's pretty crazy.

Jackdorian In reply to Palidoozy [2009-03-30 22:44:50 +0000 UTC]

NOWAI, I WANT TO SEE HIM FIGHT KORD!!!!

The way I introduce epic is by having my PCs kidnapped by a continent-spanning gang of brigands who ride the various beasts of the air. It was supposed to be a very classic mercenary deal, with the the four of them hired to protect a dwarf's powder-caravan through the immense and wild forests on in to civilization. Nope.

Palidoozy In reply to Jackdorian [2009-03-31 17:04:43 +0000 UTC]

): tear.

The only real "epic" I'm going into with a campaign is in 4th edition. I have it all mapped out, but chances are it will involve gods and the like.

Then again it is also aptly called "failtrain."

Jackdorian In reply to Palidoozy [2009-03-31 21:04:39 +0000 UTC]

Oh man. I was not impressed with 4th Ed. I went and downloaded all the core books available at the time so I could get a jump on my friends. Needless to say, none of them even know how to play 3rd, and when I mention 3.5 they look at me blankly.

I swear, this is the least nerdy area on the east coast. I'm marginally depressed.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Palidoozy In reply to Jackdorian [2009-03-31 21:39:02 +0000 UTC]

When I lived on the east coast, I didn't play nearly as much D&D as I do now. I played with... my brother. And I was involved in a campaign with my friends. That's about it.

yep.

4th edition is pretty fun though, honestly. Though I think there are some things to fix in it, it is the best version of D&D I have ever experienced DMing in, out of 2nd, 3rd, 3.5 and 4th.

Jackdorian In reply to Palidoozy [2009-03-31 21:51:43 +0000 UTC]

That's pretty cool!

If I ever find any other people who actually know what a grapple check is (and how to make one) I'll pick it up.

I just use good ol' photoshop for my lines. I tried flash for a while, but the lines just ended up being too mechanical.

Thank you!

Your work is really impressive, I think it's a shame Sakura Con was nearly impossible for artists to have a table at this year. If I'd gotten acquainted with you sooner I wouldn't have minded sharing space with you. Maybe in the future.
