Description Orchid Cliff Fall locates in Khao Yai (Big Mountain) National Park, Thailand. To get to the fall, you need to hike for 1 mile. Unfortunately, the stream current was very strong on the day I visited. The main waterfall is on the right of this picture, but I couldn't get any closer. The current was reddish and strong, so I didn't risk.

If you plan to stay in Bangkok, I think it's ok to travel alone. Just need to exercise common sense and avoid isolated areas

However, if you plan to visit countryside, then it might be better not to travel alone. Most country folks here don't understand English, and many towns have no public transportation (to go around the town. Most do have inter-city transportation). You might be in trouble easily (such as getting lost in some unknown places)

You're welcome

I should add that some towns are frequent by visitors. Those are Phuket, Pattaya, Koh Samiu, Koh Phangun, and Chiang Mai. If you plan to visit one of those, you can be assured that you will find quite some friends there

The real waterfall is very beautiful, but getting the right timing is very difficult. If it's during rainy season, the current is so strong that you can't get near the fall (like in this picture). If it's not rainy season, it's most likely to have no flow. There're only 1-2 weeks that are most suitable to visit

Wow, that sounds like a crazy waterfall

It's typical of Northeastern Thailand, as the land is made from stone with high porosity. So the water is absorbed very quickly after the rainy season is over

Do you have droughts during the non-rainy season?

Yes, very typical of Northeastern Thailand

Wow, I never would of thought that. I always think of Thailand having lots of jungles

We do! Except Northeastern part

It's the driest area.
